fmylife: Today, it was the first day of my Russian 101 class. I was born in Russia but was adopted when I was very young. When I introduced myself to the class, the teacher corrected my pronunciation of my own name. Turns out my adoptive parents have been pronouncing my name wrong my whole life. FML story of my life.
